Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is an American pro basketball player with the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. Arike Ogunbowale played college basketball playing for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before getting drafted by the Wings as a fifth overall pick for the 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale was born on the 2nd of March in 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years old) and Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her two older brothers. Being the youngest of them, her parents gave her the best treatment. Gregory's father was part of the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale grew up in a busy family. Her mother Yolanda played softball at DePaul while her brother Dare was football player. Her high school experience comprised 73 plays and 1,477 points in her career and 739 career rebounds. Ogunbowale won gold medals at the 2013 U16 FIBA Americas Championships and 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships as well as the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championships. Ogunbowale was selected as one of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team on July 7, 2014. Ogunbowale was also named to the ACC All-Freshman Team after her first collegiate season. Kobe Bryant himself congratulated Ogunbowale following her NCCA Tournament big shot. Ogunbowale is a relative newcomer to the game of basketball, has already made herself a household name.
